Welcome

One Disease at a Time is a non-profit organisation that has a simple but groundbreaking vision: to systematically target and eliminate one disease at a time.

Our first initiative is to eliminate crusted scabies and scabies as a health issue in Australia. Scabies is a highly contagious skin disease, which has reached epidemic proportions in many remote Aboriginal communities. Crusted scabies is arguably one of the most devastating medical conditions in Australia. Patients suffering from this condition become the core transmitters of scabies.

Starting with a three year Healthy Skin Program in East Arnhem Land, One Disease intends to demonstrate a best-practice model of partnering with Indigenous communities to create sustained change.
